Boston based company acquires Swiss software provider

The Boston-based company, Appfire has today announced the acquisition of the Zurich based Beecom Products, whose co-founder Fabian Hediger will lead Appfire’s growth initiatives as General Manager. Beecom is a top-selling Atlassian Platinum Marketplace Partner and provider of software tools for software developers. Its solutions are used by more than 18,000 teams worldwide, including global companies.

Beecom’s flagship product is the JSU Automation Suite for Jira Workflows designed to help teams customize their Jira instances and work together more efficiently. Jira, developed by Atlassian is a work management tool for all kinds of use cases, from requirements and test case management to agile software development.

Beecom’s core JSU app helps companies like Cisco, Facebook, Nike, Tesla, and JP Morgan streamline workflows, without code. Following its foundation in 2000, Beecom became a top-selling Atlassian Platinum Marketplace Partner. Its products count among the most widely used in the Atlassian ecosystem with over 18,000 active installations worldwide.

The Zurich based Beecom will now become part of Appfire, a Boston based provider of apps for software development and teams, and an Atlassian Platinum Marketplace Partner too. The acquisition will enable Appfire to add JSU into its product family to provide best-in-class workflow management tools.

Appfire will provide resources into Beecom’s key product. The JSU team will remain fully dedicated to their current product line and continue to provide support as members of the Appfire family.

Zurich to become an Appfire innovation hub

As part of the transaction, Fabian Hediger will act as General Manager for Beecom Products. In his role, he will lead the rapid growth initiatives of the company, including the continued expansion of its team and establishing Zurich as an innovation hub for the growing Appfire family. Beecom Services will remain an independent entity in which Michele Warmbrodt has been appointed CEO, and Nicole Watanabe has been promoted to Chief of Staff. Fabian Hediger remains President of the Board of Directors for both Beecom Products AG and Beecom Services AG.
